RSVP are based in East Anglia, England. They are known for their exciting blend of traditional music (from Britain, France, Spain and Italy) and their own material. Their talents are in demand primarily for ceilidhs and they are a popular choice for weddings, parties and festivals. The band is able to provide a complete evening of lively entertainment, guaranteed to break the ice and get everyone on their feet.
RSVP have their own caller, who has a wide range of English and French dances, and a bilingual vocalist to interject songs from those same countries.
As experienced musicians, the band have become increasingly involved in running or assisting with workshops and bals where the repertoire is almost entirely French dance, and it has been actively involved in two of East Anglia's regular French dance organisations; being able to offer this expertise has extended the bands operating area beyond East Anglia to the rest of the UK and Europe.
As they have developed, they have been influenced, guided and encouraged by bands such as La Chavannee, Cock & Bull, Blowzabella, La Ciapa Rusa and Os Rosales. But this is not a 'tribute' band, playing tunes lifted from the obvious sources of 'Euro-folk'; it is a group of individuals each of whom has his or her own areas of musical interest, which makes for a unique repertoire and a style which they see as very much their own.
